Techroki.com – Queen Elizabeth II will be entombed at Windsor Castle’s King George VI Memorial Chapel, with the body of her late husband, Prince Philip, being moved to join her.
The entombment is supposed to happen after Elizabeth’s state memorial service at Westminster Abbey.
Her parents, King George VI, who kicked the bucket in 1952, and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, who passed on in 2002, as well as her sister, Princess Margaret, who also kicked the bucket in 2002, have each been let go at King George VI Memorial Chapel.
The remains of Prince Philip, who passed away at age 99 in April 2021, are still at the Royal Vault at St. George’s Chapel.
Ruler George VI Memorial Chapel is part of St. George’s Chapel, the site of various royal burials.
Sovereign Elizabeth II will be let go with husband Prince Philip close by.
Elizabeth kicked the bucket on Thursday at age 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
“The Queen passed on calmly at Balmoral this evening,” the royal family tweeted of Her Majesty, the longest-prevailing monarch in British history at 70 years on the privileged position.
“The King and The Queen Consort will stay at Balmoral this evening and will get back to London tomorrow.”
Lord Charles III responded to his mother’s passing in a close to home message shared Thursday.
“The passing of my dearest Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a snapshot of the greatest sadness for myself and all members of my family,” read a statement posted to the royal family’s social media accounts.
